A&J’s Elegant Elopement in Umbria: A Private Celebration in the Heart of the Italian Countryside

When A & J first dreamt of their wedding day, they knew it would be just for the two of them. No big crowd. No elaborate seating charts. Just love, elegance, and the timeless beauty of Italy.

This past May, their dream became a reality — an intimate luxury elopement in Umbria, tucked away in the rolling green hills of the Tenuta di Murlo Estate. With sweeping views, delicate florals, and a private chef at sunset, it was a celebration defined by intention, intimacy, and unforgettable moments.

Why Umbria?

While Italy offers many beautiful backdrops, A & J were drawn to Umbria for its tranquility, lush landscapes, and authentic charm. “It felt like the perfect place,” they told us, “somewhere romantic but peaceful, with the green hills reminding us of home.” The estate they chose, a private villa within Tenuta di Murlo, offered both seclusion and cinematic beauty — just what they had envisioned for their intimate destination wedding in Italy.

A Ceremony with a View

With the rolling hills of Umbria as their altar, A & J exchanged heartfelt vows in a setting that felt sacred and serene. Two grand urns overflowing with baby’s breath framed the ceremony, surrounded by dozens of candles flickering softly in the breeze.

There were no guests — only love, silence, and a breathtaking view. These quiet moments, captured beautifully by The Saums, became memories A & J will cherish for a lifetime.

Italian Elegance Meets Minimalist Romance

For the design, the couple wanted something timeless and elegant: a white and green color palette, soft draped linens, and romantic candlelight. The ceremony urns gave way to a floral garland at dinner, laid gently across a table for two, overlooking the hills as the sun dipped below the horizon.

The bride stunned in a Vivienne Westwood gown paired with Jimmy Choo heels — a perfect nod to structured elegance. Her soft and confident glow was thanks to Triplow Beauty, who created a look that felt polished but natural.

A Sunset Dinner — and a Sweet Surprise

As the stars began to appear, a private chef served an intimate meal under the Italian sky. For dessert? A playful twist on tradition: a tiramisu wedding cake — and a DIY moment that still makes us smile. When the couple decided to dust the cake themselves with cocoa powder, the entire top of the shaker flew off, coating the cake (and nearly themselves) in rich cocoa. Laughter echoed across the terrace.

A Pool Jump, Limoncello, and the Stars

One of the most magical moments came at the end of the evening. As the temperature dipped, we prepared two chilled limoncello shots. After a quiet toast, the couple ran and jumped into the pool — full wedding attire and all. From there, they slipped into the hot tub with champagne in hand, wrapped in warmth and stars. It was our cue to quietly leave, giving them space to soak in their newlywed glow — and the Italian night sky.
